Concept, design, and illustration for Bayer’s 2020 Insecticide Products Brochure, created to help farmers better understand and combat one of the most persistent threats in poultry production: the Darkling Beetle.
This fully illustrated, six-panel brochure was designed as both an educational tool and a functional reference guide. It walks readers through the dangers posed by the Darkling Beetle, including how they spread disease, damage infrastructure, and compromise flock health. Detailed illustrations highlight where the beetles tend to hide, their behavioural patterns, and the signs of an infestation — all critical information for early detection and prevention.
On the reverse side, the brochure unfolds into a large-format biology poster that maps out the full life cycle of the Darkling Beetle. Designed as a visual reference for farmers and barn staff, it can be pinned up in the barn or office as a practical tool to help identify the pest at each stage of development.
The combination of custom illustration, clear design, and practical information helped Bayer connect more meaningfully with its agricultural audience — making technical content accessible, visual, and field-ready.
